The Gathering of Sisters United Fellowship began as an idea almost two years ago. I wanted to connect back with a group of women whom I had known and fellowshipped with for many years as a young Christian.
The gathering was to focus on sharing “our stories,” filling in the details of life’s circumstances that have brought us to the place where we were in that moment. I believe that each person’s story whether good, bad or indifferent helps shape and make us who we are. Each story, if willing to be shared, holds a stepping stone to and light of encouragement for someone else’s success and growth.
While those initial intentions didn’t materialize then, the Gathering of Sisters United Fellowship is being born now.

Joy Bannister is a resident of Columbus, Ohio and was born in St. Louis, Missouri. She is the youngest of four siblings - two sisters and one brother. Married with three adult children, she is the proud grandparent of six amazing grandchildren - five girls and one grandson.
She is a graduate of Wilberforce University with a BS in Organizational Management and a Columbus Public School Special Education teacher. As founder of The Gathering of Sisters United Fellowship, she has a purpose to "Bring into Focus the Power of United Women who Understand the VALUE of TRUE Sisterhood."
Her genuine hope is that this fellowship becomes a place for women to find peace, belonging and authenticity.

We are here for each other. No matter where you have been or what you have been through, this is a gathering for you.
Let's commit to helping one another shine our brightest to bring light to the world.

We all have a story to tell. Your story may not look like mine and that’s okay. Each story has significance and importance! Once we realize that we are all connected, we have a responsibility to encourage our sisters along the journey as they travel life’s paths to their God-given purpose.
These thoughts were only seeds planted in my heart not realizing that the germination of these seeds would begin to grow into now the beginning of a fellowship designed to empower women to their purpose of who and what we are designed to be.
Are you ready to take a step forward to share your story and heal yourself? Let us know how we can help. We are ready to listen.
